If an origin responds to requests with following HTTP codes:
and content is still in CDN cache, instead of a live site version, a CDN server will serve the stale content to a client.
Please, note that when the site is unavailable, CDN cache may have not enough content for displaying a correct page. Situations when a user will not be able to see some images, style sheets or other static content are possible. This opportuninty can be considered as a resourse failover measure.
Moreover, our technology provides caching of response codes with following parametres by default:
- 404 code will be stored in cache for 1 minute after a request;
- 301 code will be stored in cache for 1 day after a request.
